Core Module
The core module of 1 credit must be achieved

Module : Safe Practices
- Verify compliance to safety, health and environmental requirements in the workplace
- Provide primary emergency care/first aid as an advanced first responder
- Erect, use and dismantle access equipment for construction work
Module : Building Construction Management
- Describe the composition, role-players and the role of the construction industry in the South African economy
- Develop construction work plans
- Procure building and civil construction materials, tools and equipment
- Identify, use and maintain tools, machines, equipment and materials for building and civil construction activities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Elective Modules
Painting Specialisation
- Prepare surfaces for painting (compulsory for the painting trade)
- Prime and apply paint to surfaces (compulsory for the painting trade)

Tiling Specialisation

Carpentry Specialisation
- Clad roof structures (compulsory for the carpentry trade)

Concrete Formwork Specialisation
- Fabricate, erect and strip formwork for straight walls, columns and bases (compulsory for the concrete formwork trade)
- Fabricate, erect and strip steel and timber formwork for T-walls, decks and beams and single flight staircases (compulsory for the concrete formwork trade)
- Fabricate, erect and strip steel and timber formwork for curved, sloped and E-walls and curved bases with kicker, incorporating waterbar
